The Rising 1745 by Charles Sanford Terry.
The Jacobite rising of 1745 was an attempt by Charles Edward Stuart to regain the British throne for his father, James Francis Edward Stuart. In July 1745, he arrived in the Hebrides aboard a French frigate. On 19 August, he raised his standard at Glenfinnan, near Fort William. About 2,000 Highland clansmen rallied to his cause.
