Algernon Charles Swinburne's Songs before Sunrise is a compilation of poems that delve into the theme of Italy, particularly its unification. Swinburne's encounter with Italian patriot Giuseppe Mazzini in March 1867 played a significant role in inspiring him to compose these songs.

Black Cloth covers with gilt lettering and designed to spine. Some very light bumping. The pages are clean with no ink or pencil marks. Some light tanning due to age with previous owners name to Front.
